DANIELLE’S NEMESIS

CHAPTER ONE

DANIELLE & TRINA

Danielle stared at the pictures the private investigator had given her of her husband in the arms of another woman—a woman she would never have thought him capable of mingling with. She was entirely different from her. She wore loud and tight clothes and was quite endowed in her bust and butt. With her colorful makeup, she looked nothing like the quiet and tamed woman Brad wanted Danielle to be.

There were pictures of him on dates in fancy restaurants with this woman on nights he had claimed to be working while she was home alone. Some shots showed them making out in the lobbies of hotels and various locations. There were even pictures of them in the woman’s apartment. The PI had taken photos from the building across the street with a perfect view into her windows. These were the ones that infuriated her the most. These were images of them having sex. Her fingers clenched as she examined the proof in front of her.

Her husband was an asshole! Surprisingly, she hadn’t done anything crazy since receiving the PI's evidence. She kept up with her smile; meanwhile, her eyes shot daggers and bullets at him. How could he act so shamelessly? He was a pretender who had perfected the act of being the dutiful husband with her, but out of her sight, he was a cheating scumbag.

Danielle studied the bank statements the PI had also given her. Her darling husband bankrolled this woman’s lifestyle. He paid for her apartment, bought her a car, paid her credit cards off, and provided overseas trips.

And she wasn’t the first. The investigator had found other women he had provided for in the past years. Although he wasn’t still dating them, it was obvious the sort of relationship he’d had with them. Her husband was a serial cheater. She knew two of the women he had messed around with. One was an employee at the company, some girl named Jessica, who Danielle had bonded with at the company’s yearly gala a few years back. She recalled Brad telling her not to get too close to Jessica because she had an unruly and wild character. Danielle hadn’t noticed those traits in the girl, but she had listened to her husband. Now she knew better. He hadn’t wanted her to be close to his past lover.

The other was a friend of his sister, Cindy, a model who wore skimpy clothes all over social media. She recalled Cindy having a fallout with her a while ago; she had inquired about what caused the conflict between the friends, but Cindy hadn’t responded. It probably had to do with Brad. It was clear to her now that his family knew about his cheating ways. In all of this, Danielle had been foolish and the last to know—all because she had trusted her husband so much.

She took a deep breath. Seeing the truth didn’t make her cry as she had thought it would. Instead, it gave her a calm sense of comfort by proving her suspicions weren’t wrong.
