Tasha

Someone was barking orders. It seemed far away from Tasha, but it was getting closer.

She cracked an eye open. She couldn’t see anything yet. It was so dark. But the sound of people coming into the dungeons was getting louder.

She tried to stand, but she felt like she hadn’t eaten in days. Her head was turning and her eyes were burning.

She really needed to drink and eat. She felt like there was a monster growling in her stomach. A very pissed-off monster.

Then the source of the noise arrived at the door of her box.

He was small with large shoulders and almost no hair left on his head. She couldn’t see the color of his eyes in the darkness of the dungeons, but she would have bet they were moss green like most of the trolls. That man was not just a mortal for sure.

He came to unlock the chain from the ground.

“Out.”

He also had the politeness of the trolls.

She followed anyway. She didn’t want to spend a single minute more there.

She was brought to a barren room. The only thing visible was the drain for water on the ground.

“Clothes.”

Then he added.

“Off.”

She was starting to think she wasn’t going to like what was coming, but she was in no position to fight back. She had her hands tied and she had no energy.

She tried to comply but it was actually not that easy with the chain between her wrists. After a few trials, the troll-like man went to remove one of the handcuffs.

“Behave.” was all he said.

She got back to remove her dress. She had not paid attention to what color it was when she picked it, now she couldn’t make the color out anymore as well. It was a mix of grey and brown, and she absolutely didn’t want to know where those colors came from. Her daggers and her necklace with the potion had disappeared. They must have checked her and taken those away while she was sleeping.

Once she was naked, she realized someone else had entered the room. It was blondie. He had two big buckets of what seemed to be water on each side of him.

Without giving her the time to know what was coming, he had thrown the content of one of the buckets at her. It was water. Freezing-cold water.

Mister Troll threw her something that looked like soap.

“Wash.”

They weren’t going to turn around to give her some privacy. So, she worked as fast as she could.

At least she would feel clean again.

When she raised her head to tell them she was done, the content of the second bucket hit her.

She was never going to get warm again.

One of them threw a piece of fabric at her. It was grey and absolutely not soft.

“Dress.”

Mister Troll was really a one-word man. Was making full sentences too hard for him?

Once she was dressed with the shapeless dress, he came back to put the dangling handcuff back on her wrist and pushed her out of the room.

She was really too tired to complain.
