With all the hustle and bustle that the Christmas season brings—Shopping, cooking, decorating, kids musicals, getting together with friends and loved ones—it’s easy to lose sight of the reason for our praise—God in the flesh, brought down as a sacrifice for us so that we can dwell with Him in eternity. But as you conquer the last minute sales and put the finishing touches on the fruitcake remember to turn everything back to God as praise. This doesn’t just mean in song, either.

When the person behind you at the supermarket is grouchy, show them the loving-kindness that Christ has shown you. When someone cuts you off in traffic, extend the same grace that Christ did to you. When your kids make you late for your work Christmas party, just sing your favorite Christmas songs, and forgive them as Christ forgave you. The Spirit of God probably won’t manifest as an all-consuming cloud around you, but the peace of God will be evident with you.

Is your praise infectious? Does it make people take notice? Does it inspire others to cry out in worship? Worship is not just the 20 minutes of music before the message at church on Sunday. Worship is an attitude. Is your attitude worshipful?
