As my Mistress Mother examines her life I can feel her wondering if her days of self-expression are over. They are not. With age she will find there is more to express than ever. I want her to express until she no longer has the energy to stop! And what she expresses will be more important if I have anything to say about it.

Memory is getting to be an issue for my MM. I see her with friends who are her own age, and some who are twenty years younger, forgetting things all the time. They can’t remember the phone number of a good friend. They can’t even remember the name of the friend sometimes. They can’t remember where they put their car keys, and when they do finally find them, sometimes they can’t remember what they’re for! So I’m very aware that my Mistress Mom feels frustrated by her memory loss, but I know she’s really going through a kind of elevation of understanding, focusing on important things beyond the details.

I don’t like to see my MM irritated when her memory fails her, because I know that with my help she is slowly entering these other dimensions that I am tuned in to. Sometimes, when she has forgotten what it is she was supposed to do, she says things to herself like, “I don’t know what is happening to my mind.” At times like that I always go over to her and put my head in her lap until she strokes me. I tell her to let her memory rest in peace, then she relaxes and picks me up, so I think she gets the message. Speaking of the importance of messages, I have told her, and she understands, that she should not lift me up under my front legs because that’s hard on my shoulders. What she does now, thank goodness, is put both of her hands on my tummy. When she lifts me up that way it’s much more comfortable, and I think everybody should know that about us fur persons.
