CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

OBLIVION

OR

PARADISE

In just under ten minutes, the medium-sized Transport Carrier ship was already slowing its approach to the mile-long Emerald Star Galactic Alliance flagship. It dwarfed the Transport Carrier as it slowed to a stop to hover in a parallel position, several thousand yards from the central section of the massive inter-stellar parent vessel.

Tam-lure Una-mala, Mark, Janice, Boun-tama, Lean-tala, and Ted were standing on the teleportation platform, as Captain Zin-tamal nodded to a trim, well-built technician with curly brown hair that appeared to be in his late-twenties. The technician nodded, smiling back as he touched a luminous control on the console. A moment later, their seven bodies were dematerialized and whisked away in the whirling teleportation beam.

They reappeared at the same moment on an identical pad deep inside the flagship of the Galactic Inter-dimensional Alliance of Free Worlds. Waiting to greet them with warm welcoming smiles were Commanders Jon-tral and Sun-deema, standing directly behind a very pretty, long brunette-haired female technician in her mid-twenties.

They walked down the steps from the pad and up to the flagship Commanders, and then respectfully acknowledged them with their right palms held over their hearts.

The flagship Commanders returned the gesture, and Jon-tral stated, “This flagship and our other four Emerald Star cruisers are now stealthily orbiting the planet. We are prepared to act on a moment’s notice.”

“Thank you for the update,” acknowledged Mark.

Jon-tral waved his arm toward the triangular exit from the teleportation chamber and remarked, “If all of you will follow us to the bridge command center, we can monitor the Trilotew movements before we engage Ambassador Shon-ral’s plan.”

Jon-tral and Sun-deema walked out of the room followed by Mark, Janice, Ted, Boun-tama, Lean-tala, and then Tam-lure and Una-mala.

They walked into the command bridge through the triangular hallway entrance and continued until Jon-tral and Sun-deema stopped in front of the waist-high central-command station. The long control console curved before them like a half moon below the horizontal, oval space-view windows.

Jon-tral kindly asked the beautiful young female technician sitting in front of the console gazing down at the control board, “Jin-trean, please activate the surrounding view screen.”

Like a graceful swan, she lifted her head up on a long slender neck, turned to face the Commander, and replied, “As you wish, Commander, and welcome back everyone.”

She turned back around and touched a control, and the end-to-end projected view screens appeared along the top of the long half-octagon shaped console. All of Asia, including Russia and China, appeared as a single large image spread across the series of screens providing an overview from a hundred miles above the planet. The image zoomed closer to gradually focus on China and then continued to zoom forward until a large government complex in Beijing came into clear focus. Then the image switched to a large interior office within the government-building complex. A slightly rotund sixty-year-old Chinese President with gray-streaked hair, black-rimmed glasses, and an expensive three-piece, blue suit was standing behind his large cherry-wood desk. A tall thin Chinese man with glaring black eyes, black wavy hair, wearing a dark-blue suit was standing right behind him.
