The original Civil Engineer Corps Officers School (CECOS) building, pictured here on July 25, 1961, was located near Bard Mansion. CECOS relocated from Davisville, Rhode Island, to refurbished World War II barracks at Port Hueneme in September 1947. In 1991, they moved to Moreell Hall, a technologically state-of-the-art building across the courtyard from the barracks. The mission of CECOS is to provide courses of instruction for CEC officers and senior enlisted personnel, through which they may become acquainted with the specialized administrative and technical engineering necessary to equip them for duty in naval billets.
