As they drove home in their own vehicles, Kendall wondered if he’d have lost his nerve by the time they got back. He was amazed he’d found it in the first place. He’d kissed Alfie. Not much of a kiss, but the first kiss since… The first kiss in a long while. Years. He was horrified he’d waited this long. And he wanted to do it again even though his head was yelling at him not to, to be careful, it was too great a risk. His heart was less certain.

Alfie was back first. He’d not gone inside but was leaning against the front door, his eyes wide, that dazzling smile on his face. Kendall locked his car and walked towards him, his gaze fixed on Alfie’s lips. Lips that had been against his. And it could happen again. But he had to make it happen. Before he could talk himself out of it, or think his way out, Kendall put his hands on the door either side of Alfie’s head, leaned in and kissed him.

The only place they were touching was at the mouth. Kendall took his time, letting his tongue drift along the seam of Alfie’s lips, then nipping gently with his teeth, before sliding his tongue inside. He thought Alfie gasped, but it might have been him because he’d touched that ball of metal on Alfie’s tongue and his mind had jumped to thinking about it touching another part of him.

Suddenly, Kendall was shoved in the back, knocked forward into Alfie and he turned to see Ana behind him. The reindeer tipped her head to one side, then ambled away. What the fuck? Though he and Alfie were pressed against each other now, but there was too much clothing between them.

Alfie must have had the same thought because he was unfastening the buttons of Kendall’s coat and Kendall was unfastening Alfie’s. They kissed again, pressed so hard against each other that Kendall could feel the heat and hardness of Alfie’s body. When they broke for air, Alfie smiled at him, such a tentative, hopeful smile that something shifted inside Kendall and their lips met once more.

It was frantic, maybe too frantic, a clashing of mouths and teeth and tongues and metal, but Kendall wasn’t in control of anything. The kiss was hard and deep and bruising, then it turned soft and tender, and Kendall thought his heart was going to explode with longing. This time when they pulled back, Alfie’s eyes were wide, his pupils blown.

“Can I have you for Christmas?” Alfie whispered.

Kendall heard the words but didn’t take them in. He opened the door while his fingers still worked, and propelled them both inside.

“Alarm,” Alfie gasped.

Kendall fumbled for the light, dragged the code out of his frazzled brain and entered it. They shed their coats on the mat, shoes too, and all the time, they kept stealing kisses. Kendall wasn’t aware of moving towards the couch, but that was where they ended up, Alfie beneath him.
