וַיֵּלְכוּ הָלוֹךְ וְרָדוֹף וְלאֹ לָֽכְדוּ אֹתוֹ

So they went, chasing as they went, but they did not capture him.

iii. As imperative or other finite verb

Sometimes the infinitive absolute functions as an imperative (or, more rarely, as a substitute for another finite verb, e.g. a qaṭal or yiqṭol). In such cases the person, gender, number (and, if relevant, tense/aspect) must be deduced from the context, because the infinitive itself doesn’t indicate these details. Look at these examples:

וְעַתָּה לֵךְ וְנָתוֹן לִנְבִיאִי אֶת כ־ָּל כ־ַּסְפְּךָ

‘And now go and give my prophet all your money!’
