Show respect for othersâeach person has a special gift.

BELIEFS OF THE TLINGIT
The Tlingit people hold respect for traditions and their beliefs related to nature and their society. These have shaped their responses to interactions with foreign nations who have tried to impose outside beliefs on them. The Tlingit people have tried to maintain a hardline to their traditional beliefs at various times throughout history when the culture seemed to be waning.
The Tlingit used objects like these to carve totem poles, which depicted sacred and historical aspects of their culture.
