Prof Kim G. Clarke

holds a Ph.D. and a B.Sc. Engineering (Chemical), both from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and an MSc Engineering (Chemical and Biological) from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. She is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa, a Rated Scientist in the National Research Foundation, a senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and a chartered member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. She leads a multidisciplinary research group directed towards the application of engineering principles in the development of biological processes, has authored a book on Bioprocess Engineering published by Elsevier as well as several scientific publications in leading international journals, and has presented her work at numerous conferences.
