It was on a One Accord camping trip that Donna and I first felt things for each other and it was quite romantic at that. Around a warm, bustling fireplace in the middle of the woods on a cool summer’s night, our romance began as we shared our first kiss. It was all quite innocent, almost as if G-d had wiped away my promiscuous past.

Donna and I continued to date over the summer, and I took a part-time job running a telephone drive for a young man named Pastor Willie who was organizing a spiritual outreach and parade in New York’s Central Park called Jesus Loves New York. The event took place at the beginning of September and drew many church groups from all over the city, with many of their leaders sharing a few words from the platform between the musical performances. I had worked hard to help Willie make this outreach a success, and we actually led thousands of people in a parade down Central Park West and into the park for the performance.

It was a very exciting day, and the L-rd was glorified through it. While I was standing on the platform, the Holy Spirit fell on me and I began to weep as His love and presence touched my spirit and soul and He spoke these words, “You are going to have a son, and you are to give him the name Joshua.” I was so excited and went to share the word with Donna who was also at the event. She already knew because G-d had already told her previously. Please keep in mind that we were only dating and had not yet discussed marriage.

At the last couple of Wimber conferences that we attended, Richard had developed a relationship with a man by the name of Bob Jones, who was a prophet of the L-rd. It was during this time in the body of Messiah that G-d was beginning to reestablish the five-fold ministries of the faith that Rabbi Paul spoke of in his letter to the Ephesians (see Ephesians 4:11), and Bob Jones was definitely gifted in the prophetic area. When he ministered, he would tell people things that only the person or G-d actually knew about themselves. So Richard invited him to come and minister in New York—we were all very excited about his visit.

Aside from ministering at the congregation, we set up two additional meetings. One for the leaders of One Accord, which was held at the apartment I was sharing and another at Blanca Pappas’s apartment, who was Donna’s close friend, for some of the others in the church who were interested in a one-on-one session with the prophet.

I have never forgotten the words that Bob Jones prophesied to me and neither has Donna. He told me that I was going to be an evangelist to the nations; but beforehand, G-d would be removing a couple of leeches that were still part of me and that required inner healing. He told
