Answer: One of the seer gifting’s primary uses is to see for other people. This usually happens first and tends to happen most frequently.
It is rare for people to never see anything for themselves, but it’s not unheard of. The best solution for this is to be around others, where you’re seeing for them and they’re seeing for you.
God may allow such a condition to persist so that you develop a need for other people. I’m not saying that God caused this to happen so that you’d be forced to let others see for you, but He’s probably not releasing you to see for yourself until you have a sense of community. If you consistently see for others and for yourself, then others might need you, but you wouldn’t need them. However, if you’re seeing for others and they’re seeing for you, then you need one another. As you grow in interdependency, this condition will probably lift.
It is often much simpler for us to have faith for other people than for ourselves. Why? Because it is easier for us to believe good things for others and have hope for them than it is for us to believe positive things about ourselves. We have opinions and beliefs about ourselves that may be in the way of what He wants to tell us, so we typically are more open and objective about what God says concerning us when the words are coming through other people.
It could be that God is telling us wonderful things about us and for us, but we don’t have the faith or hope to believe them. As others see them for us, we’ll gradually become more open to seeing them, too.
Again, the solution is the same: Be around other people, so they can see for you and you can see for them. Grow as a community, and then, if there are any issues within you, they will naturally begin to alleviate. For instance, if you don’t believe the truth about yourself or don’t have hope for your own life, the fact that other people do will impart that to you, and you’ll start being able to see more for yourself.
