Chapter 10: Dreams and Revelations
â âYou couldnât even keep yourself from trying to fuck our mother â¦! I was never that pitiful, even at my absolute lowest pointâ¦â Itâs my voice speaking, but my lips arenât moving. The room around me is so dark that I canât see anything at all, not even my own nose. Everything is shrouded in darkness.
â I donât know how I got here, or where I am, but Iâve never felt so profoundly hidden away and isolated. A feeling of fear bubbles up from deep inside of me, making me whimper and try hugging my knees to my chest.
â Is this another bad dreamâ¦?
â A silver spark flickers into existence to my right, and then to my left. All I can see better is myself. Iâm pale, pink, and pitiful. Another spark flares up behind me, and then one directly under me, though it doesnât seem to be the kind that make me shudder and quiver. Thatâs so⦠strange. The floor is easier to see, and though Iâve never seen the odd pattern of textures and runes before? It somehow feels⦠familiar. Three more lights flare up in front of me, forming a circle with the others surrounding me. The room is much better illuminated nowâI can actually see in a small little sphere! I still donât know where I am, and I still feel so⦠strange.
â My body gasps without my permission as I realize that the symbols underneath me spread out beyond the lights, putting me in the very pupil of a very large eye.
â âYou escaped from a witch once already, Sarah ⦠Didnât you have any faith you could do it againâ¦?â Thereâs a sound of someone spitting, of frustration, anger, and I can feel it like sharp electricity teasing through the air. It doesnât hurt, it just feels⦠present. âDidnât you have any faith at all⦠that I could do it again, Sarah? Instead of that, instead of working with me, working with yourself⦠Youâd rather betray everything we stood forâ¦?â
â The silver points of light around me twinkle, glitter, and flash⦠They arenât sparking me, but I can still feel them. They give off a cool heat that feels like standing in the light of a distant sun as it shines over me. Itâs soft and delicate, gentle and familiar in a way that makes me want so much more. Itâs a dizzying, soothing feeling that tingles and shudders into my core, making me clench and whimper as I feel the faintest bit⦠softer.
â My naked flesh starts to sweat and I canât hold back the moan that spills out from my lips as small tendrils of electricity reach out towards me from each of the sparks. Itâs so different looking at them now than it was to look at them before. Before, they looked like silver light emanating from small silver stars, but now theyâre far too bright for me to see the electric star inside. All I
