Superior to Drugs?

Many researchers theorize that protease inhibitors are more effective than present-day antiviral drugs, all of which come with side effects. Inasmuch as the drugs are all targeted to the genetic material in the cells, there is fear that they may throw a wrench into our genetic machinery, damaging it and, over a period of time, even contributing to cancer.
