Chapter Eight

Instead of taking her to bed, he went into a living room and sat on a couch with her across his lap. Arabella watched as he turned his head, flexed his neck, and sighed in relief. “Why does it always feel so nice to be in one’s own space again?”

“Um, because the doors lock?”

He grinned. “That would be it. What would you like for dinner?”

“I don’t know. I have a belly full of potions right now.” She shrugged. She was hungry, but she had no idea what she wanted.

“I will ask you again later.”

He slid a hand under her skirt and pried away her panties, sliding them down and away. “Now, it has been a recent dream of mine to have you in my arms completely naked.”

“Weird dream. I usually dream about chocolate.” She kept a grip on his shoulders as he turned her to straddle him and unzip her dress.

He pulled the fabric off over her head, and then, he looked at her bra. “Do you mind if I buy you some new things? Your clothing choices don’t do your body justice.”

“You want to dress me?”

He reached behind her and unhooked the three hooks that supported her. “I just want to upgrade your look to something that makes you look as good as you feel.”

The bra surrendered and slid off her skin. He rubbed the lines that dented her shoulder and under her breasts. “That can’t be comfortable.”

“It isn’t. It burns, but these ladies are not suitable for being out on their own. They tend to take off in different directions.” She blushed. “I am also outside standard sizing, so I have to make do with what I can afford.”

He grinned. “They can be confined more comfortably. I promise.”

He tossed her bra to the side and pulled her toward him. The dents and welts in her skin were licked slowly, and he groaned. “This is what I missed the first time. Just tasting you with light around us.”

She shivered and flexed her hands on his shoulders as he got every raw spot and welt. His mouth changed to the one made of teeth, and it was weirdly comforting that the monster in her arms was the same one who had taken such care of her. He turned her and seated her facing away from him while he bent her forward and took care of her back. She sighed until he worked a hand between her thighs and started to stroke her.

She gasped and gripped his wrist. She was fighting off the heat in her body, but it was no use. He was so careful and gentle that she soon spread her thighs and invited him in.

Her skin tingled where he had healed the raw spots, and she knew that her body was following its instinct, and she was wet already.

Demanding sex from a guy she barely knew suddenly seemed an excellent course of action. Mind you, she was already carrying his child. The least he could do was satisfy her again.
