Sausage Salad

This salad is based on a classic Swiss-German lunch standby called Wurstsalat. Instead of using the usual mayonnaise, I’ve made it with a honey-mustard dressing. Some of the sausages are cut into fish shapes, an inspiration I had when I made this bento for a beach outing.

For the salad

1 medium English cucumber, de-seeded

1 celery stalk with leaves

10–12 cherry tomatoes

8 cocktail franks, or 3 hotdog franks

For the dressing

1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 tsp sea salt

2 Tbsp olive oil

1 Tbsp honey

1 Tbsp Dijon-style mustard

black pepper, to taste
