BIRD FACT #18 The American bittern can camouflage itself into reeds by looking skywards with its long neck and bill
I follow the rest of the path along peopleâs gardens with my head down and my boots splashing in puddles, and I donât look up or stop until Iâm spat out onto a golf course.
I donât really like walking through golf courses, as Iâm always afraid that someone will accidentally hit a ball at my head, but it doesnât look like anyone is playing today. Just in case though, I walk over to the golf club building and push a bright blue door open to a small, deserted changing room that smells like old socks. It has a toilet, which I use, and then I sit on one of the benches next to some lockers and open my map.
