Just before my youngest two daughters got married, I got a miniature dachshund, a female named Sasha. She was quite a handful, but I loved her! Then, so that she wouldn’t get lonely, I got another minidachshund, this one a male. I named him Copper. Once the kids left home, these little dogs became my constant companions. They filled my days with antics (some good and some bad). They even slept with me at night. (I’m single, so no one complained.) To this day, they bring me great joy and comfort. And they’re great for scaring away would-be bad guys! They yap like great big dogs whenever someone rings the doorbell!
