THE GREAT IMPATIENCE

‘Gawd… I hate this thing!’ I mouthed in annoyance at having to type one handed. But then, what else did I have to do? Jared had needed to leave me for a while and handed me the laptop before he left, telling me and I quote,

“I want to know everything.” This was also said with a serious frown, so I knew he meant, everything. He had already tried ‘helping’ me with his support, but I realised that by doing it, it would mean support would need to be given on both sides, as he was… well…

Finding it difficult.

I had barely just begun before he had started growling, making me roll my eyes at him. I then drew the line when he started grabbing it off me after every two lines written to snarl like some wild beast who hated technology. So, when I typed out that it might be best for me to do this alone, he got up off the bed and declared,

“Fine, I’ve got shit to do anyway.” I could tell he was annoyed, maybe even verging on offended, but before I could try and say more, he was making demands of me that it needed to contain all the details. Needless to say, I let out my own frustrated sigh, only unlike his, mine wasn’t heard as he left the room.

My problem was that the ‘everything’ he spoke of, included things I wasn’t sure I was ready to give him. Like Koro… I don’t think Jared would appreciate hearing all about how he protected me, flirted with me and also spent his last seconds with me, declaring…

“You are my half.”

Whatever that meant.

But mainly I was referring to what I most definitely had decided to leave out, which was precisely how I got out of there in the first place. I didn’t mention anything about the coin. One that I had found the second I took off my bra before getting in the shower. A decision I made the second I saw it there in my palm, like a painful reminder of who it had been meant for.

Earlier that day…
