An Actual Fight

CHAPTER 15

Frank unpacked his backpack and enjoyed the peace of his room before his roommates or Jon could disturb it. It had been a good break—no homework, family time, presents—but he couldn’t shake his worry for Jon.

Even though Frank didn’t want to admit it out loud, he looked up to his smart, adventurous brother a great deal. It was easy to let him take charge. Even if he didn’t always agree, it was hard to say no to Jon.

That was why seeing him closed off felt so strange. When Jon had started yelling in his sleep—thrashing, screaming, and shouting Frank’s name—Frank had run to get their parents. He’d felt totally helpless when they hadn’t been able to wake him. Was that what it was like for Jon when Frank had his episodes?

Since then, though, Jon had seemed like himself. Well, mostly. There were times Frank could swear his brother was hiding something, and he didn’t like it. They usually shared everything.

“Your brother is still drooling over the tryouts poster.” Damien laughed as he walked into their room and threw his bag on his bed.

Frank rolled his eyes. “Doesn’t surprise me.”
