AN AFTERTHOUGHT

Kevin’s dad modeled what God desires from each of us: He wants us to ask in prayer, believe in Him with all our heart, and expect to receive His favor.

But when Kevin and his dad—together with his mom and the rest of the family—prayed for complete healing and it didn’t happen, Kevin was tormented by human questions: Why, God? And why now? Dad was young.

In the end Kevin accepted that he had received a partial answer to those questions. Through a Godwink, the Lord reassured Kevin that his father’s death was indeed according to God’s will and timing. Kevin will have to wait until he sees God face-to-face to fully understand why his dad was graduated to heaven so early in his life.

Let us be mindful, though, that at graduations, the graduate is not the one feeling regret or sadness. The graduate, after all, is in the glorious presence of God. At graduations, the ones to feel sadness are those who are left behind.

We shall see face to face.

Now I know in part;

then I shall know fully.
