Interconnected Minds

Are all living things connected? The Global Coherence Initiative (GCI) is a nonprofit research organization made up of scientists across the world and has provided some compelling evidence of a “global information field that connects all living systems and contributes to a type of global consciousness.”29 GCI utilizes state-of-the-art sensing technology located throughout the world to observe changes in the Earth’s magnetic field. These sensors are constantly monitoring the resonant frequencies in the Earth’s magnetic field.

Another research organization called the Global Consciousness Project, which originated at Princeton, believes that “our individual minds, though distinct and uniquely ours, may also join with others in a kind of mental symphony that now and then becomes audible against a prevailing background of static.”30 The Global Consciousness Project has a global network of random number generators (RNGs). Each RNG outputs a continuous stream of completely unpredictable zeroes and ones. The stream ordinarily averages out at 50 percent ones and 50 percent zeros, just as flipping coins tends to produce roughly equal heads and tails through time. When events engage millions of minds and hearts at once (for example, the terrorist attack on 9/11), structure seems to emerge out of what would otherwise be randomness. The global network departs a bit from the normal generation of random ones and zeros. The RNGs’ behaviors become slightly correlated and the system as a whole appears to shift toward coherence.31 During global events, when billions of humans are focused on one event, unexpected correlations in RNG indicates “that there is an interconnection of consciousness at deeply hidden levels between people and among people across the globe.”32

Research conducted by GCI shows that our human electromagnetic field can be detected by nearby animals or even us humans. There is experimental evidence that human bioemotional energy can have a subtle but significant (scientifically measurable) non-local effect on people, events, and organic matter.33 It is becoming clear that a bioelectromagnetic field, such as the ones radiated by each human heart and brain, can affect other individuals and the “global information field environment.” GCI has also shown that a person’s emotional state is encoded in our bioenergetic field, which is communicated throughout the body and into the external environment.34 Their research suggests that emotional information is actually coded and modulated into our bioelectrical fields. Therefore, by shifting our emotions, we are changing the information coded into the magnetic fields that we radiate which can affect those around us.

We are suggesting in essence that this encoded information is communicated non-locally between people at a subconscious level, in effect linking all living systems. If we look at the heart, for example, it emits electromagnetic fields which change according to our emotions, and these can actually be measured up to several feet away from the human body. These fields have been shown to affect not only ourselves, but those around us. One of the main hypotheses of GCI is that the Earth’s magnetic field is a carrier of biologically relevant information that connects all living systems.
