“Daniel or Esther-Style” fasting prayer movements

Daniel fasted from the “choice food and drink” of the King’s table, choosing vegetables and water. The result was wisdom and understanding ten times better than magicians and sorcerers in the land (Daniel 1:1-21).

Esther and her maidens fasted for three days and nights, neither eating or drinking, and called all the Jews of Susa to do likewise. This fast was in preparation for her going in to the King on behalf of the Jews whose lives were in danger (Esther 3:13-4:17).

These fasts are commonly undertaken in order to seek wisdom for special circumstances, for special events requiring an increased anointing, or for a movement of God upon the hearts of others by His Holy Spirit.

Continuous 24 hour prayer and worship

“Harp-and-Bowl” style (Revelations 5:8-12), has been originated by Mike Bickle and other leaders at International House of Prayer, Kansas City, and reproduced in numerous houses of prayer in the U.S. and other nations.

Passionate prayer pursuit of God

The “One Thing” New Year’s week conference at IHOP, Kansas City, Missouri, and other venues of intense pursuit of intimacy with God have sprung up. One Thing Conferences are now being held in multiple regions of the United States. Other similar prayer efforts are developing.

Calling forth of “Anna Ministers”

Both men and women who give their lives entirely to prayer. Luke 2:36-37 describes her life of prayer: “And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with a husband seven years after her marriage, and then as a widow to the age of eight-four. And she never left the temple, serving night and day with fasting and prayers.”

Groups with special emphasis

Such as the end of abortion (Bound for Life Movement), impacting government and legislation (Justice Houses of Prayer in Washington, D.C. and Kansas City), and others.

Truth

Jesus said that when the Holy Spirit comes, He will teach the Church all things, guide into all truth, and bring all things to remembrance (John 14:26, 16:13). As we continue to move toward the end of the Age, there may be yet other truths that the Holy Spirit will restore to His Church. We need to continually ask God to keep us open and flexible.

A Soon-Coming, Mighty, Worldwide, End-Time Revival Resulting in the Complete Restoration of the Church to Apostolic, New Testament Christianity (#52, 53)

The completion of the restoration of the Church to God’s full, original intentions will all be completed as a result of a soon-coming, mighty, worldwide, end-time revival (see Chapter 4). Many have been praying for this last, great revival, and God has certainly been getting His Church ready. It is already breaking forth. With it will come the full restoration of the Church to New Testament purity, spiritual authority and power, purposes, principles and patterns, and fruitfullness. We will see the Body of Christ come into unity.
