Sure enough, the false system promised the bank that, so long as the writing tool was only a possibility (whereas I hold it never was and never will be a possibility), then, as possibility, it certainly would be an integral part of the system; it could be delivered by the system and the system wouldn’t require my creation and my work.
This system of the bank represented the very argument why I would never eventually meet with the bank and why the bank would never listen to my argument of inversion of the surface. This system, owing to its growing volume and force of attraction (always towards the sparse sum of possibilities and their interstices, always towards the inflation of actualities, never returning towards the infinite point, the infinite past, the infinite speed of transmission of the virtual, and never returning to the pit, to creation), was always postponing the moment when the bank would listen to me. In the meantime, it was an ‘easy sale’ for it to promise delivery of pricing models - as if models were possibilities, items that could be rolled up in one’s sleeves, add-ins that could be delivered with the rest of quantifiable possibilities that the system was implementing, as if the market were not the surface one has to return to.
One has to stop the inflation, cut the head, stop the system, in order to get back to the surface and tie the first knot, deposit the first stitch.
The system was orbiting the world in the ‘right’ direction, diverting the bank’s attention in the million versions it was selling. It came to represent the bank itself. Meeting with quants in the bank from now on meant meeting with quants in this system. They themselves became possibilities of the system (or impossibilities, dead ends, no longer even deadlines). How could they find the surface with me and listen to me? The system marooned me on the surface and the bank could no longer find me.
While I kept losing/missing my point, missing the virtual beginning of my implementation process in that system (never finding the bank as a market, always meeting the bank as a sparse summation, as a box, as an integrating system), I kept losing touch with the readership of the surface and of the event, on the other hand. How could the readership believe my event and get my point, inhabit my surface and get transmitted its signs, when The Black Swan (the book) was orbiting the world in the other direction, selling a million copies, and the enterprise-wide system was orbiting the bank and selling a million versions?
