Merkle Tree

A Merkle tree is the fundamental definition of providing blockchain (hashing) signatures. It is called a tree because it creates signatures from data, then combines them with other signatures to create a new, overarching signature. This goes on and on and on and can be seen on a blockchain as the mechanism used to ‘chain blocks’ together. It kind of takes the form of the branches of a tree, coming forth from each other.

P2P (Peer-to-peer)

Peer-to-peer stands for a decentralized network where all participants are directly connected without a central connectivity point of some sort. Both peers (participants, nodes/miners) have direct ties to each other.
