“Hey, fucknob, guess what? You get to choose your own adventure. How do you want to die, you goddamn crusty, dickless piece of shit?” Nina screamed in Smitty’s face. “Should I make it fast, or super fucking slow? Because I love slow. I like it real slow.”

As Prim stood frozen, staring at what she’d done to Smitty, Nina had flown down the hill in a blur of white snow and dark hair streaming in ribbons of black behind her, hauling Smitty up by his throat and slamming him against the trunk of the tree with such force, the tree shook from the ground up.

Snow fell in clumps from the branches, landing on them and splattering to the ground.

Smitty’s feet dangled helplessly as he tried to speak, his face red and distorted.

Marty rolled up behind Nina and grabbed her by the shoulders, her fingers tightly gripping the vampire’s flesh. “Let go, Nina,” she warned with a hiss. “Let go now.”

But that didn’t affect Nina in the slightest. She gripped his neck harder and jammed her face into Smitty’s, her eyes narrowed and full of fire. “You ever fucking touch her again, if you ever think of touching her again, go anywhere the fuck near her, I’ll eat your dick clear off your body and wrap it the fuck around your pencil neck, you motherfucking pissant. You feel me, Sport?”

“Nina!” Marty whispered close to the vampire’s ear. “Let him go before you draw attention and cause trouble for Prim. Do it, Vampire!”

Smitty could barely move as he watched the two women, let alone acknowledge Nina’s threat, but he didn’t have to. She opened her hand and stepped back, letting him fall to the ground with a hard thump and a glare.

“Prim!” Raff yelled as he raced down the hill toward her, stopping short to grip her by the arms and pull her close. “What the hell just happened? Are you okay?”

“I…” She opened her mouth to speak, but her surprise prevented any words.

How could she explain what had just happened? She’d screamed with such force, she’d sent a man reeling. Who did that?

Wanda flew up beside her, pushing Prim’s hair from her eyes and cupping her cheek. “Honey, are you okay? Who is that?”

Prim couldn’t help it—she burst into tears, falling deeper into Raff’s arms as Wanda rubbed her back with her palm in soothing circles.

Her entire body trembled violently as she cried into Raff’s shoulder, and he whispered, “It’s okay, Prim. It’s okay. I’m here. I won’t let him hurt you.”

She gasped into his chest, relishing the smell of his jacket mixed with his cologne and the cold air.

“That’s right, you pussy! Move the fuck along or I swear on your tiny dick, you’ll wish I’d killed you!” Nina screamed so loud, it made Prim shake harder.

There was a scuffle of feet and loud, almost strangled grumbling before there was silence and nothing but her raw sobs.

Afraid to look up from the safety of Raff’s arms, she burrowed farther into his warmth, forcing herself to inhale deep breaths.
