Knowledge of historical Greek tyrant slaying—Friedel 1937, 27–72, 98–103; Berve 1967, passim with 2.742 for literature—may have been another motive of the assassination, but the details of such acts are too diverse to have provided the conspirators against Caesar with a useful model.
