Finally the doctor gives me the Rorschach test again. I've had to do it several times since I've been here, and each time my answer is meticulously written down.

"Well, what do they see?" the doctor wants to know.

"A door."

As I look at the picture, I can think of nothing else but how much I want to leave this place. I hope he didn't notice.

Afterwards I'm released from the conversation. I feel tired and I have a headache. Like someone's been digging around in my brain against my will. When the doctor gets up to open the door for me, he puts the clipboard with my file on the desk first.

I can't resist.

Instead of going after the man, I stop and grab the clipboard to take a look at my file. I need to know what he wrote. What my diagnosis is, when I can go home or whatever. I gotta get out of here! But when I look at the paper, my face pales.

It's... empty.

It can't be! Although the doctor has been writing on the paper right in front of my eyes the whole time, I only see a completely white page. Not a word, not a letter, not even a single stroke is visible.

I stare at the doctor with my mouth open.

What's up?

What's happening to me?!

How can I see someone writing and then find out that they haven't done it at all? Suddenly I panic. The breath comes in piles over my lips and in the pit of my stomach it begins to flicker restlessly.

The doctor has nothing to say about what just happened. He stretches out his hand only with a mild look and asks me silently to give him back the clipboard. Without another word I'll put it into his hands.

Am I really crazy? For a single moment I doubt not only my sanity, but also whether I experienced my excursion with Kate at all. Was it all a dream in the end? Am I losing my mind?

While the doctor wants to throw me out of the door, my gaze bores into his.

"What ward is Kate on?" I want to know. "Can I visit her?"

He gets pissed off at the drop of a hat. I can almost see his face turning red.

"No."

The doctor's answer is gruff. He must have noticed it himself, because he clears his throat quickly and adds in a friendly manner: "She was transferred to another ward in another institution. You can't visit her."

He sees my expressionless face and wrestles a smile from it.

"But it would not have done you good to see her anyway," he continues. "Concentrate only on your own recovery."

That concludes the doctor's talk for today. I am sent out the door and still don't know whether I should trust him or not. That way I won't find out where Kate is. No one gives me a really precise answer. If she was really taken to another institution, I won't be able to help her anymore. On the other hand, she might at least get the medical support she needs.
