One of the easiest ways the government could stop all this madness is to let doctors prescribe methadone to those who are in opiate withdrawal and at risk of relapsing. It is quite difficult for some addicts to get the money to stay at a clinic because it can cost upwards of $200, and then they have to make it to a clinic every day to get their dose. Considering these circumstances, many people just give up. Sometimes they must wait six months to get into a clinic in the first place. This is also the reason why I am in this current predicament during this period in my life.
