I’d just finished packing my things to head down to South Florida for this fucking rehab shit. My whole family and Patrice finally convinced me to go. I didn’t know why I had to go when my political career was potentially over. Even though we had a jackass as a president, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to come back from this, especially since neither of us had come out and said anything publicly about the kidnapping, and my fucking wife was gallivanting about the city with the man that was ‘alleged’ to have kidnapped her. Everything about this was all fucked up. I’d gotten one of the main people who really rode for me killed and ever since that shit had taken place, I’d lost everyone around me except my family and Patrice.

My wife walked out on me and one day, I’d be able to fully admit that I deserved the shit.

Mitch hadn’t fucked with me since that day at the hospital where I claimed that he had fucked Val. My pride wouldn’t let me reach out to him after I accused him of that shit. A part of me knew that Val would never do no grimy shit like that, but at that moment, I didn’t give a damn. Going from believing you were your wife’s first to finding out that you may not have been the third, fourth, or fifth would make any nigga react the way I did.

None of the bitches that I’d fucked on the side were answering my calls or text messages, and somehow, all I could do was laugh at the shit. I knew better than to call Haley because she was still hounding me about that fucking money. A couple of people that gave me the money for Urvi’s ransom were asking for their money back. Everything had fallen apart around me, and I was the one to blame for it all.

“Son, it’s time for us to go now,” my dad said from the door. “Me and your mother will be back throughout the rest of the week to pack up the rest of your things and clean up.”

“Oh, okay.”

“What do you want us to do with Val’s things if we find some of them?”

“You won’t find any of them. I had me a nice ol’ bonfire last night. I burned everything that was hers.”

“Oh. Well, why did you do that?”

I pulled the suitcase off the bed and lifted the handle.

“Dad, excuse me for being a little frustrated at seeing my wife on a date last night.”

“Hmph.”

He came over and grabbed my suitcase from me.

“Come on, we were supposed to have been gone two hours ago. You packed all this stuff that you’re not going to need, honestly. You’re going down there to get some help and to work on yourself and to maybe… just maybe… get your wife back.”

“Dad, did you not hear me say that my wife was on a date with another man last night? That same man happens to be a billionaire.
