This is the writing room area at the forward end of the saloon deck on the new Islander. Writing paper with the company’s logo was supplied, as well as ink and pens. This view is looking toward the port side of the steamer.

Here is another interior view of the saloon deck on the Islander; the photograph was taken looking forward. The doors down either side were day staterooms that could be rented for the duration of the voyage. They were popular with families that wanted some privacy and to avoid the crowds on deck. The stairway leads down to the main deck where passengers came aboard.
