BUILDING A BUSINESS PLAN
* * *
To many, the idea of writing a business plan – especially for a part-time business – sounds either overwhelming or just plain tedious. But even for a part-time food business, a business plan can get you started off on the right foot. The business plan will help you clarify and organize all the ideas you have running through your head about the business and it forces you to take a hard look at the finances of the business to make sure that you're pricing your products in such a way that you can actually make money. The plan for a part-time food business doesn't need to be overly complex, however it should, at a minimum, include the following sections. For a sample business plan see Appendix I.
