Haq slowly rubbed his hands up and down Kyrinen’s back. The man had passed out sprawled all over Haq’s chest. Whether from exhaustion or pleasure, Haq wasn’t sure. He was hoping it was pleasure. He wanted Kyrinen to experience nothing but ecstasy at his hands.

Although many years had passed, Haq still remembered the small baby that had been placed into his arms on the day of his tenth birthday. Kyrinen had been just a few days old, barely a sprite. And yet, one look and he had stolen Haq’s heart.

Knowing that they were fated to be together until the end of their days and that Kyrinen would be only his had sent his heart racing.

The ritual that had bound their souls together had made Haq the happiest ten-year-old on the planet. It was the waiting until Kyrinen was an adult to claim him that had been the hard part.

Haq wasn’t allowed to claim Kyrinen until he came of age. By then, the old regime had been replaced by the new guard and the ruling family was branded outlaws. Only by sending Kyrinen away when he was just a small child had Haq been able to save him.

Finding him again on Earth had been harder than Haq thought it would be.

Haq had made contact with Kyrinen through their bond when he landed and he’d retained the contact as long as possible.
