I knew that I was handling my job correctly when it came to Jackson, because he started blowing me up, taking me into the city for fancy dinners, springing for luxurious suites at some of New York City’s finest hotels. He even took me on a shopping spree to Bergdorf’s after one of my finest performances in the bedroom.

“Pick out something,” he insisted. I only had to be asked once, ’cause if there is one fantasy near the top of my list, it’s high-end shopping where I never have to see the bill. Of course, I knew I’d be back on my knees again later, but when one dress cost as much as four months’ rent, I figured it was the least I could do for him. When the salesgirl rang up my purchases, he barely blinked at the total.

“Now we have to take you someplace nice to wear that outfit,” he said on the way back to the hotel. We had very little conversation other than that, because Jackson seemed to be constantly on his cell phone. Brotha man wheeled and dealed all day long. When I started feeling a little taken for granted, I reminded myself not to take it personally. You don’t become one of the richest black men in New York by working part-time. Besides, while he was doing business on the phone, it left me free to daydream about Mac.

On the nights when I wasn’t with Jackson, Mac and I had quite a few late-night phone conversations. Some of them got pretty graphic, so I still expected that eventually I’d get him in bed. But I had yet to see him naked, and I was not accustomed to waiting this long for something I wanted so badly. Until Mac came to his senses and gave me some, I had to be satisfied with using my imagination. And my imagination was working on overdrive right now. I could feel my panties becoming damp, and I might have even been able to make myself come in a few minutes if Jackson hadn’t hung up his phone and interrupted my thoughts.

“What kind of credit cards do you have?” He held out his hand for my wallet.

I smiled sweetly, hoping he was going where I thought he was. “Oh, the usual. Discover this, Master that.”

“Limits?”

“Let’s just say I’m pushing all my limits,” I shot back. Hell, if Jackson wanted to pay my credit card bills, then that would be nice. As if on cue, Jackson reached into his jacket pocket and handed me a fat envelope.

“Here’s a little something.” I could tell by the thickness of the envelope that he’d just given me a couple thousand dollars.

“I’m gonna have to show you my appreciation in some way,” I cooed, realizing that the feel of all this money in my hands was making me just as wet as my thoughts of Mac had.

That night, I gave Jackson the fuckin’ and suckin’ of his life. I could tell by the way he stared at me afterward that he might work out to be a huge meal ticket.
