Blue Sky for Every Business

As we conclude our brief foray into e-commerce, I hope this chapter has given you food for thought and fuel for your journey through the cyber clouds. To recap, if you don’t remember anything else I’ve shared in this chapter, here’s what I hope you remember about e-commerce. First, you can’t ignore it because it’s not going away. It’s almost been a quarter century since entrepreneurs began to fly into this new, untested airspace. Since then, many have soared and continue to climb while others have crashed only to fly again another day. Overall, though, e-commerce continues to reveal plenty of blue sky for every business.

Second, e-commerce presents unlimited opportunities for test-marketing and experimentation, which helps you learn more about what works and who your customers are. You have this classroom, laboratory, and wind tunnel all in one where you can explore and get your bearings before embarking on a longer, more extensive journey.

Finally, e-commerce is absolutely essential for success in promoting, marketing, and branding your business, whether you actually attempt to sell online or not. No serious, profitable entrepreneur can afford to ignore the vast reach and influential impact that the Internet has had on every business model in existence.

Remember, the e in e-commerce stands for easy!
