As with the PLL, we use the in-built variable t_clock to check the time instant of the simulation. The variable t1 will be defined in the descriptor file as a TimeEvent variable. This variable is updated at the end of the block to mark the next time instant the reference generation algorithm must run.

As with the case of the PLL, the output of the reference generation function must interface with other control functions. Therefore, d and q components of the load current must be output to the current control block which will be described next. Since an interface between control functions is to be formed, VariableStorage type is used. The following two variables will provide the d-q components of load currents to the rest of the simulation:
