Work through the Shepherding Matrix together as officers and answer the following questions related to knowing the flock:

Are we stronger in macro-knowing or micro-knowing shepherding?

Macro-knowing

1. Do you have a clear understanding of the sheep for whom you will have to give an account, i.e., do we have an up-to-date and accurate membership roll?

2. If your church has no membership roll, how can you know for which sheep you are accountable to God? Consider a process of membership in your church that will reflect the mutual commitments of members and leaders.

Micro-knowing

3. Do your sheep “know” their shepherds? Are you approachable?

4. What steps have you taken to establish personal relationships with your sheep?
