Get paid for results rather than for the hours you work
In general, those who are less wealthy prefer to be paid a steady wage, based on hours worked. This way, they can depend upon money coming in at the same time each week or month, which lends them a feeling of security and allows them to pay their bills and any other outgoings. The problem with this is that it offers no opportunity for major progression.
Wealthy people prefer to get paid for the results they have produced. This is because they believe in themselves and in their ability to deliver. They might own their own business, which generates a tidy profit each year. They might work on commission, earning large chunks of money from sales. Or they could be involved in a profit-sharing plan, or perhaps make investments in the stock market.
If you are currently in an hourly or salaried job, one way you can change this is to propose a compensation plan to your employer, letting them hire you as a “company.” You will have to meet certain legal requirements, but if you are able to take on one or two more clients, even part time, then you can enjoy the tax benefits of a business owner, and certainly make more money for the work you carry out.
Of course, another great way to make your millions is to start your own business. If you have a unique idea that you think will be profitable, or you are already putting a plan into action, this is perfect. However, if you are worried that you don’t have a brilliant idea, then you can simply use someone else’s. One of the ways to do this is to become a salesperson. If you can become good at sales, then the sky’s the limit with regards to making a profit: there are many positions that offer uncapped commission on sales. Another option is to join a network marketing company. For just a small amount of money, you could become a distributor for a bigger business. This means you’ll experience many of the benefits of owning a company but with none of the usual hassles involved.
A word of warning: all of these career paths have the potential to make anyone rich, but don’t think for one second that it will be an easy ride. You must undergo training and self-study, and you will have to put in hard work and dedicate much of your time to make a success of things. But, if you make the effort to do well in this area, then slowly but surely you will start to watch your pennies grow into pounds.
One of the best ways to become wealthy is to switch from earning a salary to getting paid for the results you deliver. You can do this by getting into sales, by adapting your current working contract, by starting your own business or even through joining a network marketing company.
