I look up in amazement at the large, granite archway that has splatters of chipping paint all over it. I can hardly tell it is granite any more. It looks more vibrant than what it would have had it not had any paint on it. I like the look.

After Betsy had served us what Kade called the feast, we all ate in silence. Even I ate despite the fear of Betsy poisoning the portion she set in front of me. I figure she likes the guys enough to where she wouldn’t risk killing them along with me. The second we all took our last bite Logan was rushing us out the door to come to this place. Sharp Painter.

“Come on, come on. I call being on Kitten’s team!” Logan calls out, hooking his arm around my shoulders. I stumble at the added weight. “We’ll finally have an even team, Kade do you want to be on our team.”

“No, I have Trey and Callum. You take Wyatt.” Kade commands. Callum looks downcast at being in a separate team from Logan, but he offers me a sad smile. Wyatt trudges over to Logan and me looking positively… Uncaring. As always. He cuts me a sideways glance briefly and scans me not in a flirty ‘Get Ten in the bed’ way like Callum does, but in a very analytical ‘Is Ten good enough’ way.

“Let’s suit up. It’s time to play.” Kade says, a smile gracing his face. I glance back up at the granite paint-covered archway with the name Sharp Painter. The dots connect in my head. Paintball. It’s a paintball place. I grin. This is going to be fun, they have no idea what they are in for.
