Sounds Of Power

Various sounds have always been used in psychic and spiritual work. The utilization of these sounds is based on their ability to attract or repel whatever the situation calls for. There are various forms, all with positive results. Nature has a balance and so there are negative power sources as well, but we are not concerned with these at this time.

The use of drums is one of the oldest methods. Among others, magi, shamans, priests, spiritual workers all utilize this percussion instrument. It is used as an aid to invoke communication with the spirit world and to help a medium or sensitive to achieve a trance state. The drums have an effect on the nervous system due to the pulsating rhythm. They also repel negative entities as a form of protection due to their vibrational influences. This is called “sympathetic vibration.”

Chants are another form. In Hinduism, the word “Aum” is one of power. It is the synonym for God. When chanted, it utilizes every part of the voice organs of every language. In essence, it represents the whole world. When chanting Aum (or Ohm, Om), we will vibrate through the Universe, thus helping you to reach numerous consciousness levels simultaneously. This Eastern chant is utilized by individuals, healers, and spiritualists for attunement. The vibrations charge the atmosphere with prana, which can then be directed for any specific purpose you choose.

American Indians use sound to correlate to nature. They utilize this power, as do Magi, Occultists, Mystics and Practitioners to control nature and to work with it.

Georgian chants were at their height in the Middle Ages. Originated by Pope Gregory for the Catholic Mass, each chant was geared to a specific religious purpose. This placed the congregation on an Alpha (psychic) level. Some of the chants placed people in an almost hypnotic state.

We, as Mystics, use sound to invoke spirit, to manifest from thought (the Power of the Word, contained in the Bible) to physical (whatever we are working on at the time), to protect.

Music is another form. Notes are tuned into the planets, the universe, colors and various other levels. When a musician consciously creates for a metaphysical cause, the effect looked for will manifest. The intention may place you in a more meditative state prior to your meditation. It may place you in an Alpha state, to be more open psychically to information. Music also sets the mood. Have you noticed how certain songs make you feel mellower, happier, moody or “up”? Sounds have a very real effect on us and the universe.

Other words of power include; Ame, Amin, Abracadabra, Yahweh, Jesus, Nameste, Adonai, Tetragaematon, Bless You. When you bless someone verbally you send positive energy; you seal the experience and it comes back to you on a blessing level. A blessing is psychic energy sent to a person or people for a constructive purpose, such as healing. It works on an electrical impulse on the one sent to you, transforming negative vibrations to neutral or positive ones.
