“Do you, your friends, and society a favor and just tell us where they are.”
Hassan couldn’t believe the situation he was in right now. He had practically been dragged out of his own home in cuffs by the US Marshall’s. Apparently, Nikki and Dre were under investigation for the Key Bank robbery they had all committed.
Past convictions for a similar crime had led police straight to Nikki and Dre. However they didn’t have a substantial amount of evidence to prove that Hassan was a part of the robbery as well. Instead police felt that Hassan could lead them right to his friends.
Warrants were already issued for Nikki and Dre’s arrest and the story had been broadcasted nationwide.
Hassan sighed dejectedly. “I told you,” he said. “I don’t know where they’re at.”
Detective Jackson slammed a closed fist on top of the table Hassan was seated at. “I find that so got damn hard to believe!” he snapped. Jackson was a stocky, bald head black man that obviously took advantage of the authority he had. He was one of those motherfuckers that took having a badge to a whole other level.
Hassan felt like he was already imprisoned as he sat in the interrogation room. Two no-nonsense detectives berated and questioned him about Nikki and Dre’s whereabouts. They even threatened to charge Hassan with aiding and abetting if he was in fact holding back information.
Detective Marlon stood from his seat and rounded the table. He was a middle aged Caucasian man with salt and pepper hair who resembled actor, Chris Noth. “Mr. Bashir,” he began as he slowly approached Hassan. “DeAndre McCall is also the suspect of a double homicide that stemmed from a convenient store robbery a few days ago. You do realize the extent of his crime, right?” he asked.
Hassan raised an eyebrow in skepticism. What the fuck is he talking about, Hassan wondered. He knew nothing about a double murder.
It was obvious that Jackson and Marlon were playing the hackneyed role of good cop and bad cop.
“This is some fuckin’ bullshit,” Hassan muttered underneath his breath.
Jackson looked as if he were ready to bust a blood vessel, but Marlon remained calm and content.
“He is a very dangerous man, and has already proved to be a threat to civilians and possibly even a threat to himself,” Marlon continued. “Now being his friend, you can either help us in apprehending him…or deal with the possibility of him ending up in a body bag. His death will be on your conscience,” Detective Marlon explained. “It’s totally up to you.”
Hassan exhaled deeply and ran a hand over his weary face.
“Please do the right thing, son,” Marlon pleaded. “Tell us where we can find them…”
