Soon, they ended up on a dark road through the woods. There weren’t any houses around or any other cars on the road.

“Did you know this road is haunted?” Jim said.

“Oh, sure,” Kelly said.

“No, it’s true,” Jim said. “There used to be this crazy man who lived in a shack in the woods. If a person’s car broke down, he’d find whoever was in it and chop them up with an axe. If you listen close some nights, you can still hear the people he killed screaming for help.”

“That’s not true,” Kelly said. “Those are just stories everyone tells.”
