Paris was great and the shopping was way more fun than I’d thought it would be. The spa and food were so good that I needed to have another week there in my schedule. Seriously.

We arranged it so Sasha and Mrs. Von Thann came out Wednesday and then flew in my private jet when I left Friday. I was dropped off at Yale and they continued on to where they needed to go with Izzy.

She’d been right and Darby jumped at the chance to spend time with me. He even got permission for me to attend his Friday classes so I could see more of his life myself.

When it was time, I went through the portal with my security and came out on the plane. We went through all of the hoops with vehicles waiting and being visible.

“You were supposed to be sleeping on the plane and are probably jet-lagged,” Ara reminded me when we arrived at Yale.

Right, yeah, good point.

Darby played his part and acted like he hadn’t just seen me yesterday, giving me a huge hug and spinning me around. “I missed you, agra.”

I blushed because I knew he meant it… And we had just seen each other yesterday.

He lived in an apartment with Wyn and Rafe, but they took some meals on campus since they had a dining hall plan. He got extra tickets for me and my security because he wanted me to see everything about his school life.

And I was horrified at the dining hall. People had said we were spoiled at Artemis, but this was… Lame. I’d skipped a lot of dishes that Artemis offered in the dining hall, but I’d never looked at anything and thought it looked gross or I would never risk eating it.

Unless it was spicy before I’d learned the rune for fairies.

But there were several things that there wasn’t any chance I’d eat for any reason.

“How the fuck do you two eat like this?” I asked the fairies under my breath. “He doesn’t need as much as us, but if this is—why do you eat here?”

“Tams, you’ve gotten spoiled,” Darby chuckled. “There’s nothing wrong with the food.”

I could debate that, but I didn’t. “It’s not what we’re used to, but it’s basic. When you eat as much as we do, there’s really only so much oatmeal you can force yourself to ingest. That’s what I’m getting at.”

“Oh, I didn’t think of that,” he admitted, glancing between Rafe and Wyn. “You don’t have to eat here with me.”

Except they were there as his security, not just students, so they really did.

I gave Rafe and Wyn a look that I would handle it and they practically had hearts for me floating around them they were so happy. I was going to smack them later for not telling me.

Then again, Darby came to eat with us at lunch and dinner a lot, so they did too. Or breakfast after training. So it wasn’t like they were eating there a lot… But still. Blah.
