^ 2. Reverend James Fielding, son of John Fielding and Rachel Ibbotson, was the pastor of an independent church in Preston, England. "Noting the effect of the Mormon elders' words upon his congregation and that many were contemplating baptism, the Reverend Mr. Fielding closed his church to the elders."

^ 3. John Benbow, son of Thomas Benbow and Ann Jones, was born 1 April 1800 at Grendon Warren, Herefordshire, England. He was baptized by Wilford Woodruff in 1840. He and his wife, Jane Holmes Benbow, financially assisted missionaries and early LDS publications in England.
