In 1976 Steve Jobs founded Apple, in 1985 he was fired from Apple and John Sculley became Apple CEO. In 1997 when Apple was on the verge of bankruptcy Jobs returned as CEO and by 2011 Apple had become the most valuable brand in the world with valuation of $153 billion. “My passion has been to build an enduring company where people were motivated to make great products,” Jobs said in an interview with Walter Isaacson. “The products, not the profits, were the motivation. Sculley flipped these priorities to where the goal was to make money. It’s a subtle difference, but it ends up meaning everything.”
