 Aesthetics must always be considered. This is especially true when the code is on the primary package. Codes must be legible to the end user but they must not detract from the over graphics of the package. If all that is desired is a lot/date code on a pharmaceutical blister pack, debossing the code into the blister is often sufficient. In other cases, the code may be the primary product identification. Some blister packages will print the top film with logos, product name and dosage, as well as the lot/date code. Where aesthetics are critical, it may be necessary to go to an inline flexo or laser printing system.
