15… Zaria

The next day, I hauled myself into Dr. Seethers' office like someone would kill me if I didn't go inside. She was the infamous psychiatrist my Aunt Lisa had recommended I see a long time ago. But after the way Hardy had dissed me, and after my 24 hour crying spree, I figured it was best I get help. My thoughts had been getting increasingly dangerous with every hour that passed so Dr. Seethers was desperately needed at the moment. As soon as I knocked on the door a feeling of uneasiness spread all over me. It had been over two years since I'd last seen a psychiatrist and the memories of what happened weren't that great.

When I heard her sweet voice say, "Come in," all I could think about was some uppity bitch with the intent on making me out to be some nut and then taking my money. I'd rather her just say bend over, Zaria, I wanna fuck you with no Vaseline. That's what my life had become… people always wanting to get over on me. Simply saying fuck me! It seemed nobody wanted me to succeed in life.

"Zaria Hopkins?" she asked peering over her skinny rimmed frames.

I shot her a fake grin, thinking those glasses are way too small for her chubby face. "Yeah, that's me." I stood folding my arms tightly across my chest letting her know I wasn't interested in gaining a new friend. I had stopped by just to keep from murdering a muthufucka.

"Have a seat," she told me standing behind her big, mahogany desk.

I decided to wait. I wanted to check her spot out a bit more before she started getting all up in my business. Besides, why didn't she have a receptionist? I wondered. And why did she look so young? She couldn't have spent years training for this because her skin told me she was in her twenties. My eyes quickly did a virtual tour of her spacious office, noticing how neat it was, except for the pile of papers stacked high on a round table to the right of her desk. Plastered across the walls were one degree after another framed in what looked like rich, imported wood. This bitch had money, I told myself. I should've known from the expensive looking pant-suit she wore. At that point I decided to sit in the over-sized brown, leather chaise behind me. It sat facing Dr. Seethers' desk where she could see me clearly, and monitor my moves closely.

"Get comfortable Ms. Hopkins," she instructed while grabbing a long, yellow legal pad from the right side of the desk. "I want us to get to know each other a bit."

"Ummmph," I grunted under my breath. Quickly, I sat then leaned back instantly feeling like a patient.

She sat in her plush seat and stared at me like a new, imported piece of china. "So, your aunt has told me a little bit about you and your history, but I'll want to hear from you about a few things shortly.
