Spread the batter in the baking pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bars comes out clean. Remove from the oven and cool completely before frosting.

In a mixing bowl, add the vanilla frosting, 1/2 teaspoon orange zest and cinnamon. Stir until combined and spread over the top of the bars. Cut into bars and serve.

Chocolate Chip Cake Bars

Makes about 3 dozen

Ingredients

15 oz. box yellow cake mix

2 eggs

1/4 cup light brown sugar

1/4 cup melted unsalted butter

1/4 cup water

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1 tbs. vegetable shortening
