P ROVERBS 3:28–29

Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you” — when you already have it with you. Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you.

P ROVERBS 24:28

Do not testify against your neighbor without cause — would you use your lips to mislead?

P ROVERBS 25:9–10

If you take your neighbor to court, do not betray another’s confidence, or the one who hears it may shame you and the charge against you will stand.

P ROVERBS 25:17–18

Seldom set foot in your neighbor’s house — too much of you, and they will hate you. Like a club or a sword or a sharp arrow is one who gives false testimony against a neighbor.

P ROVERBS 26:18–19

Like a maniac shooting flaming arrows of death is one who deceives their neighbor and says, “I was only joking!”

P ROVERBS 27:10

Do not forsake your friend or a friend of your family, and do not go to your relative’s house when disaster strikes you — better a neighbor nearby than a relative far away.
