Bambi

Cortez quickly backed away from me, taking his arms from around me. He had this look on his face like he did something wrong, but he didn’t at all.

“I’m about to go now, I have to clear my head,” he said.

I can understand why he would want to do that because after the argument him and Lilly just had and the way he hit the wall with his fist. He’s in the mindset where he needs to get away for awhile and really think about everything. I don’t know him, but when a guy is hurt by a female that he’s in love with, it can cause him to be pushed into doing something reckless or even regretting what he is bound to do.

“Wait, you’re not going to the party?” I asked him trying to make conversation to get his mind off leaving.

He shook his head. "I’m not really in the mood to party. I’m surprised you’re even thinking about going.”

I’m shocked by his response, but Raheem must have told him that I’m this good girl that don’t do nothing because I have to obey what my father says.

“Let me guess, you know that my father is very strict?”

He nodded his head slowly. "Yeah it came up when Raheem was talking about you to me.”

When we were in the room by ourselves watching a movie, it surprised me a little how he didn’t try to make a move or even hold my hand like he did before, but I can see Why since I had taken my hands away from him when I first got into his house.

“Well my father is the strict one. My mother isn’t at all. She wants me to go out and have fun. So I’m going back to my house right quick to tell her.”

He turned away from me and opened the front door. He peeked out the door then looked back at me.

"How many cars y’all have?” he asked.

Why is that even a question to ask?

“We have three, but right now we only have one with us until the other two come.”

He shut the door and looked at me. "Well there’s about 4 cars parked in front of your house, and just by looking at them niggas getting out they mean business.”

What the fuck is Cortez talking about? Niggas outside my house for what? There shouldn’t be any cars at all. My dad went to work today.

I tried to move him out of my way, but he’s wouldn’t budge at all.

“Bambi! If I let you out this house chances are you’re dead.”

My heart started beating so fast that it hurt. What’s going on? My mom is in that house and if something is going on then I need to get to her. I have to get to her.

“Cortez, move away from the fucking door!" I yelled.

He shook his head. "I can’t do that, I seen them motherfuckers packing. They not fucking around.”

I moved my hand back and with as much force as I could, I smacked his ass across the face.
